STUYVESANT ALUMNI SPORTS MEDIA ROUNDTABLE
Stuyvesant Alumni Sports Media Roundtable is a free event that will occur Wednesday, June 24, 2009 from 6:30 to 9:00 PM. Join the Stuyvesant community for an evening of great stories, snappy dialogue, and fun in the Murray Kahn Theater, Stuyvesant High School, 345 Chambers Street, NYC. The panelists include Len Berman '64, Sam Marchiano '85, and Sam Rosen '64, and Dave Cohen '68, who will be the moderator of the evening. All participants have distinguished themselves in the world of sports media. Len Berman is best known as the former sports anchor at NBC for more than two decades in NYC; Sam Marchiano is a former television announcer; Sam Rosen is the voice of the New York Rangers and the NFL; and Dave Cohen is the former radio announcer for the New York Yankees. COLLEGE OFFICE ANNOUNCEMENT
Any senior who has not filled out a senior survey in english class must come to the College Office ASAP to do so. Your final transcript and proof of graduation must be sent to the school you will be attending this fall, otherwise you will not be able to register in September.

TEXTBOOK COLLECTION SCHEDULE
Starting Friday, June 12th thru Monday, June 15th, textbook returns will take place on the first floor lobby area from periods 4 thru 8. During finals and regents week, textbook returns will continue throughout the day from 8 am to 4 pm.

SCHOOL LOCKERS
All students must clear out their lockers by Friday, June 26, 2009. Please remove and keep your lock since new locks will be issued in the fall term. Check the school's Web site for information regarding locker selection in early August.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION LOCKERS
All Physical Education lockers (in the locker rooms on the 5th floor) must be emptied on or before Monday June 15th. All items that remain will be donated to the needy. Thank you, Ms. Singer.

SENIOR PROM
The Senior Prom will be held on Saturday, June 13th in Manhattan. The prom will begin at 8:00 pm and run until 1:00 am and will be chaperoned by faculty. All other events are not school sponsored nor chaperoned.

OPEN VOICES MEETING
There will be an Open Voices meeting this Thursday, June 11th in room 615A after tenth period. Open Voices is a forum to confront the problems of race that are unique to our school. During the meeting, we will generate possible solutions to the racial divide in Stuy. Please come even if this would be your first time; it can spark an excitement that will carry on next year.

UGANDAN FUNDRAISER
The Student Union and the Invisible Children Club will be holding a Fundraiser on Thursday, June 11, 2009 from 5-8 pm. All proceeds will go to the Invisible Children Movement - an international non-profit organization that raises awareness about the Ugandan Civil War, the devastation it has caused, and the numbers of children who were kidnapped and forced to become child soldiers. Money raised will go toward rebuilding schools, purchasing supplies, and hiring teachers. This fundraiser is open to BOTH Stuyvesant students and the general community. There will be a short documentary, a variety of performers (Molly Balsam, Allen Granzberg, Dimitri Wijesinghe, Matthew Gottesman, *professional* latin dance, Hip Hop & Indian dance, an A cappella group, Chris Zhao and 3fc rap group), food, desserts, and more! There will be three real live judges featuring Mr. Mott! Come enjoy a night of fun for a great cause!

ARISTA GENERAL MEETING
There will be a mandatory meeting for all 2009-2010 new and returning ARISTA members on Tuesday, June 9th after 10th period in the theater. If you are a new member and have not yet brought in your $30 dues, bring a check to the meeting. JUNIOR SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY
Nominations take place this semester for 2010 graduates! The Robertson Scholars Program of Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill covers the full cost of attendance. They are seeking passionate students who have made an impact in school or the local community by demonstrating innovative leadership and an active commitment to helping others. Stuyvesant can nominate 5 STUDENTS.
